As the name implies, Oceanside, California, is a coastal city located in San Diego County. With a population of just over 183,000, Oceanside is the third largest city in the county. Oceanside is part of a tri-city area also containing Carlsbad and Vista. The city covers 42.2 square miles with 3.5 miles of beachfront and is located just south of Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. It lies about 35 miles from downtown San Diego.
